5.24.020 Nuisance declared—Transient merchants restricted.

A. Notwithstanding the issuance of license, the practice of going in and upon private residences in the city by transient merchants, not having been requested or invited to do so by the owner or occupant of any such private residence, for the purpose of soliciting or selling, disposing or displaying of goods, wares or merchandise or services is a nuisance and is punishable as prescribed by this chapter.
B. It is unlawful for any transient merchant in the course of business to enter the property, ring the doorbell, or knock at any building that is not a private residence and whereon a sign bearing the words “No Peddlers or Solicitors” or similar wording is exposed to public view.
