1.12.010 General penalty.


A. Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the city shall be guilty of a civil infraction unless the violation is made a misdemeanor by ordinance.
B. Except in cases where different punishment is prescribed by an ordinance of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor for violation of an ordinance of the city is punishable by a fine of not more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00), or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. If the misdemeanor is designated as a Class Two misdemeanor the punishment shall be by fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) and imprisonment not to exceed four months, or both such fine and imprisonment. If the misdemeanor is designated a Class Three misdemeanor, then the punishment shall be by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) and by imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
C. Any person convicted of a civil infraction for violation of an ordinance of the city is punishable by a civil penalty of not more than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00). (Ord. 99-002: prior code Art. 1-8)
